Dolly releases 26th solo album, ‘The Great Pretender’

Released in February 1984, “The Great Pretender” is Dolly’s 26th solo studio album and features a selection of popular cover songs from the 1950s and 60s.

The album was Dolly’s first to be issued on the new compact disc format at the time.

Dolly releases 22nd solo album, ‘Dolly, Dolly, Dolly’

Released in 1980, “Dolly, Dolly, Dolly” was, at the time, more pop focused than Dolly’s other work, and none of its songs were written by Dolly.

The album’s two singles, “Starting Over Again” and “Old Flames Can’t Hold A Candle To You” topped the U.S. Country Singles Charts making them her ninth and 10th No. 1 singles respectively. The album reached No. 7 on the U.S. Country Music Charts and No. 71 on the U.S. Top 200 Charts.

Dolly releases 14th solo album, ‘Love Is Like A Butterfly’

In September 1974, Dolly released her 14th solo album, “Love is Like a Butterfly.”  The title song was the third consecutive single to reach No. 1 (making it her fourth No. 1 single) on the U.S. Country Music Charts.

The album “Love is Like a Butterfly” reached No. 7 on the U.S. Country Album Charts.
