Virtual Event includes performances by Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Brett Eldredge and Carly Pearce
Pandora announced today that Dolly Parton will bring some holiday cheer to the Pandora LIVE stage as she’s joined by Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Brett Eldredge and Carly Pearce for a special virtual celebration on December 4, at 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PST. Pandora LIVE is the continuation of the popular live event turned virtual series that features top artists from all genres, including country, rock, R&B, and more. Listeners can RSVP for the free event online.
To get in the holiday spirit leading up to the event, attendees can tune into Christmas Radio and Holiday Hits on Pandora. Both stations now feature Modes, a new feature that allows users to customize their station listening experience based on a musical theme.
Taking place in a Nashville studio majestically decorated for the holidays, the evening will feature each artist performing classic holiday tunes backed by Dolly’s longtime band members. Exclusive interviews will be included where the guests recall their favorite memories of Dolly and talk about their favorite holiday traditions. Additionally, children around the country will act as the evening’s interviewers, asking Dolly about her holiday traditions in a special “Dear Dolly” segment. Pandora and flavor brand McCormick will be partnering for a charitable donation to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and encourage viewers to get involved and give the gift of reading this holiday season.
Dolly Parton, an 11-time Grammy award winner and member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1969 is the first country artist to have a top 20 Billboard single across 7 consecutive decades (from the 60s through the 20s). For her Pandora LIVE performance, she’ll be performing tracks from her latest release "A Holly Dolly Christmas" which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Country Albums and Holiday Albums chart.
Tasha Cobbs Leonard is one of the strongest voices in gospel music right now. Her achievements include 1 Platinum record, 3 Gold records and 600 million lifetime streams on Pandora. A Grammy winner for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance, she is also the recipient of 13 Stellar Awards and 12 Dove Awards.
Country music superstar Brett Eldredge’s fifth studio album "Sunday Drive" was the top-selling country album upon release, marking his fifth Top 5 on the Top Country Albums chart. His fan-favorite Christmas record "Glow" debuted at No. 2 on the country charts and features the Billboard Adult Contemporary and Holiday Music Chart-topping duet “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” with Meghan Trainor. The album has spawned an annual headlining holiday tour, and he recently joined Kelly Clarkson for original duet “Under The Mistletoe.” He’s earned 1.5 billion lifetime streams on Pandora and thanks to Snapple, some of his top listeners will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual meet and greet with Brett prior to the performance.
Life comes full circle for Carly Pearce who left her Kentucky home and high school at 16 to take a job at Dollywood and is now sharing the stage with Dolly for Pandora LIVE. Carly had the most CMA Award nods for any new artist nominee this year for her No. 1 hit song “I Hope You’re Happy Now” and took home this year’s trophy for Musical Event of the Year.
Event sponsors have helped to create a truly unique virtual event experience that brings interactive fan activities and exclusive content together in an innovative and engaging way. Leading up to the show, Sierra® will get fans in the holiday spirit with a curated gift guide and a chance to test their artist knowledge with pre-show trivia.
During the show, fans will be invited to pose in the Meow Mix virtual photo booth and partake in the interactive chat hosted by Wendy’s. CarMax will provide a limited amount of exclusive artist merchandise for attendees on a first-come, first-served code redemption basis.
For fans looking to continue the celebration after the show, Wendy’s will be partnering with a social influencer to host an official virtual afterparty on Instagram Live and soon will announce a deal for fans to enjoy Wendy’s at home during the show. For fans looking for more music, LendingTree Powered by VantageScore will invite fans to check out the new Pandora Live: Backstage with Dolly Parton station on Pandora featuring commentary from Dolly.
A number of performance careers have launched from the stages of Dollywood. Now, the New Faces of Country concert series will introduce more up-and-coming country artists to park guests.
Dollywood is partnering with Knoxville-based country radio station WIVK. The park will host several concerts throughout the summer. The artists appearing will surely be tearing up the charts in the near future.
On Saturday, July 1, Runaway June kicks off the concert series with a performance at 5 p.m. This rootsy group combines bluegrass traditions with dusty, desert cool and infuses Western influences in their music. The group includes Jennifer Wayne, a granddaughter of John Wayne, and Hannah Mulholland, both native Californians. The third member of the group, Naomi Cooke, hails from Nashville, TN. Wayne co-wrote Eric Paslay’s recent top-20 hit, “She Don’t Love You.”
The concert series continues on Saturday, July 8 with Shreveport, Louisiana’s Jordan Davis. Davis comes from a musical family and applies his unique classic country songwriting skills with today’s current sound for a show that will have Dollywood guests singing along. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a major in resource conservation, but with dreams of Music City in his head, he moved to Nashville to pursue his dreams. This concert is slated for 7 p.m. on July 8.
Former Dollywood performer Carly Pearce also takes to the stage in July. While her show date will be announced at a later time, she returns to her roots at the award-winning park. When she was 19, Pearce moved to Nashville where she quickly earned a reputation as a songwriter to keep an eye on. The Taylor Mill, Kentucky, musician recently earned a contract with Big Machine Records which released her single “Every Little Thing” to country radio in February. The single is currently about to break into the Billboard Country Top-20.
Georgia’s Seth Ennis visits Dollywood on Saturday, Aug. 5 to share his unique country sound with park guests. His music is inspired by his hero Vince Gill, the pop-punk bands he toured with on the Vans Warped Tour and from R&B superstars like Usher. Because his early years were spent on an American military base in Japan, his world experiences have helped him create a diverse and cultured style. For his debut single, “Woke Up in Nashville,” Ennis played every instrument, including guitars, bass, drums and piano. He even sang his own background vocals. Ennis’ concert takes place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5.
The concerts take place at Back Porch Theater and are free with park admission. Entertainment is one of Dollywood’s calling cards. In fact, the park has earned the award for Best Theme Park Entertainment the last eight years. WIVK is a 10-time CMA Station of the Year and six-time ACM Station of the Year.
Dollywood guests continue to enjoy the “Year of the Family” with exciting festivals, new attractions and special events designed to help them create lifelong memories. The New Faces of Country concert series takes place during summer at Dollywood. Until Aug. 6, Dollywood park hours are extended until 10 p.m. each evening to give families more time together. On July 1 and 8, the park remains open until midnight for the first time ever. Nightly fireworks shows and the “unbubbleievable” tricks of The Gazillion Bubbles Show ensure guests have plenty of entertainment for a full day of fun. Add Dollywood’s newest attractions, Drop Line and Whistle Punk Chaser, and summer at Dollywood can’t be beat!
