Dollywood’s Splash Country created excitement with Dolly’s announcement to add Slick Rock Racer to the list of thrilling attractions at the waterpark. Slick Rock Racer reminded Dolly of her childhood days of adventure with her brothers and sisters saying,
“That’s the same kind of unexpected thrills and adventure that I had in mind when I chose Slick Rock Racer for families to enjoy together at Dollywood’s Splash Country.”
Dolly opened her waterpark, Dollywood’s Splash Country, for its ninth operating season. The park boasts more than a dozen water-filled attractions and 30 water adventure slides. Dolly’s love for family gatherings inspired 2009’s addition of the Big River Pavilion which accommodates groups of 40 or more celebrating at Dollywood’s Splash Country.
As the gates opened on May 17, 2008, SwiftWater Run became the latest addition to the 35-acre adventure park. The new attraction took riders through a 54-inch diameter tunnel that propelled them into a large bowl feature. After a corkscrew section, they navigated down a chute and plunged into a landing pool. Dolly brought this unique family attraction to Dollywood’s Splash Country in 2008 and it quickly became a favorite for kids and parents alike. When Dolly made the announcement about the new attraction she said,
"I was looking for something that would set folks to spinning, and that’s just what my SwiftWater Run will do."
Visitors to Dolly’s water park, Dollywood’s Splash Country, enjoyed new serenity and tranquility with a splash of adventure at The Cascades™, the water park’s new $2.8 million leisure pool. Dolly said,
"The Cascades takes me back to my childhood when me and my brothers and sisters were lucky enough to discover a little mountain cove where we could cool off from the summertime heat. We’d keep that swimming hole a secret as long as we could, but I’m looking forward to sharing The Cascades with everybody!"
The Cascades featured a lagoon-style, 8,000-sq-ft., beach-entry pool. Surrounded by the lush landscaping of trees and plants, the pool’s centerpiece is a waterfall that spills from a giant rock grotto. With 25 interactive elements, The Cascades includes four slides that weave throughout the grotto. In addition, guests are able to feel the refreshing effects of 20-foot water sprays from a geyser situated on the pool’s edge. A contoured seating area offers a respite from the activity. Younger guests discovered a series of small coves around the pool’s perimeter filled with slides, misters and bubblers.
Dolly’s 30-acre water park, Dollywood's Splash Country’s sixth season welcomes two all-new 70-foot-tall free-fall speed slides, the park’s tallest and fastest. The launch pad for Fire Tower Falls is situated on the Mountain Waves pool deck. Each of the slides’ 280-foot tracks propel riders through the treetops on an exhilarating journey. The high-speed slide requires a 140-foot water-filled lane which catches riders, bringing the fast-action experience to an end with a major splash.
