On June 18, 1983, Dolly released her 25th solo album, "Burlap & Satin," which was meant to appeal to fans of both the country and pop genres. Though Dolly wrote most of the songs on the album, two compositions were outtakes from the musical "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" which she had recently starred in.
The album’s single "Potential New Boyfriend" was a Top 20 country single and introduced Dolly’s first music video. "Burlap & Satin" reached No. 5 on the U.S. Country Album Charts and No. 127 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Charts. Additionally, the song earned Dolly a GRAMMY nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
