Dolly Parton celebrated her 77th birthday with the release of “Don’t Make Me Have to Come Down There”

Country music icon Dolly Parton celebrated her birthday with the release of a brand new song that came to her in a dream. Parton said the song, “Don’t Make Me Have to Come Down There,” was spoken to her by God from a mountaintop.

Dolly makes no secret about the importance of her faith in God. She was raised going to church every Sunday where her grandfather, Reverend Jake Owens, was the pastor, and she has held tightly to her beliefs throughout her life. She felt her 77th birthday was the perfect time to release a song that means so much to her and hopes that it will have a positive impact on listeners. She shared,

“I got up, I started writing this song, and over a period of weeks and months I finished it as things would come to me, and I just felt like I should drop it on my birthday. So, I hope you enjoy it.”
