Dolly was awarded the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy during an awards ceremony held on October 13, 2022, in recognition of her many philanthropic efforts – perhaps most notably, for strengthening childhood education through the distribution of free books worldwide by her Imagination Library.
Dolly’s Imagination Library program continues to expand to new areas, and most recently it was announced that Senate Bill 1183 — bipartisan legislation in partnership with The Dollywood Foundation to establish the Imagination Library of California Statewide Program — has been signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, paving the way for the program to launch statewide in California mid-2023.
Just in time for the holidays, an expanded version of Dolly’s 2020 #1-selling holiday album is now available with eight additional tracks, including rarities making their CD, vinyl and digital debuts.
Dolly is set for a November 18 release of “Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection,” a career-spanning retrospective showcasing 23 essential recordings from 1971-2020. A cross-label anthology, “Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection” brings together, for the first time on one album, recordings originally released on Dolly Records, RCA Victor and Columbia Records, as well as the Butterfly Records digital single, “When Life Is Good Again,” written and recorded in 2020 as Dolly’s musical message of hope to fans as the pandemic rolled in.

California Announces Statewide Expansion
California Senator Shannon Grove and Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins recently joined Dolly Parton to announce that Senate Bill 1183 — bipartisan legislation in partnership with The Dollywood Foundation to establish the Imagination Library of California Statewide Program — has been signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, paving the way for the program to launch statewide mid-2023. The Imagination Library of California statewide program will work with local partners in each county to mail free, age-appropriate books directly to California’s early readers every month, from birth until age five.
Currently, one percent of California children ages 0-5 are enrolled in existing local Imagination Library programs, which continue to see rising interest and success, especially in rural and hard-to-reach communities where libraries are more difficult to access. SB 1183 creates a statewide program that will reach all 58 counties, opening up eligibility to 2.4 million children in California. Dolly’s Imagination Library recently announced that it will be expanding the award-winning literacy program statewide in Kansas and Kentucky. Every child under the age of five, in both states, will soon be eligible to receive the gift of a free book each month!
Dolly took the stage for her first full show since 2016, performing an hour of her hits during the First Annual Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye concert. The event was held on October 24, 2021, at the Country Music Hall of Fame’s CMA Theater in Nashville, TN. The star-studded evening of music and celebration was organized to help raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Imagination Library Expands Across Kansas
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Representative Troy Waymaster and the Kansas Children’s Cabinet recently joined Dolly to announce that the Imagination Library would soon be available to all children under five in Kansas! The goal of the statewide expansion is to make books available to children ages 0-5 in every zip code in Kansas.
Currently Kansas has 82 programs covering portions of 77 of Kansas’ 105 counties. Once full county participation is achieved, Kansas will join only 12 states and the District of Columbia that have earned this distinction. Continue to check availability as the Imagination Library expands programs across the state!
Kentucky Kicks Off Statewide Expansion
Kentucky families are also celebrating after news that the Imagination Library will soon be available to all children under five in the Bluegrass State! Dolly recently announced the statewide expansion of her Imagination Library program in Kentucky, through funding shared by Dolly, the State of Kentucky and local community partnerships.
The Imagination Library of Kentucky expansion will focus on reaching more children and families to increase registration in existing Imagination Library Programs in the state, while finding community partners to start new Imagination Library programs in Kentucky.
