Dolly’s recent collaborations have earned two 2020 Grammy Awards nominations

Following an extremely busy year, Dolly is closing 2019 on another high note. After being a special guest host at “The 53rd Annual CMA Awards,” celebrating legendary women in Country Music, this living legend is making headlines again with two 2020 Grammy Awards nominations!

“What incredible news to be nominated for two Grammy Awards! It is always such a sweet thing when your peers recognize and celebrate the music you make. To have a nomination with Linda Perry for ‘Girl In The Movies,’ the song we wrote together for Dumplin’ means so much. And then to share another with my new friends Joel and Luke Smallbone from for KING & COUNTRY on our duet ‘God Only Knows’…well, I am one happy girl today!”

2020 Grammy Awards Nominations

Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song

With the success of “God Only Knows,” in collaboration with KING & COUNTRY, Dolly received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. This award is given to the artist(s) and songwriter(s) (for new compositions) for the best contemporary Christian pop, Christian rap/hip-hop, or Christian rock single or track.

Best Song Written For Visual Media

Based on the novel by Julie Murphy, Netflix film Dumplin’ released in 2018 featured Dolly Parton’s uplifting song “Girl in the Movies.” This dreamy ballad led to Dolly & Linda Perry receiving a nomination for Best Song Written For Visual Media. A Songwriter(s) award. For a song (melody & lyrics) written specifically for a motion picture, television, video games or other visual media.

To date, Dolly has earned 49 Grammy Awards nominations and has taken home eight Grammys.

Grammy Awards are set to air on January 26, 2020, on CBS.

Women In Country Music Unite For Groundbreaking Performances at “The 53rd Annual CMA Awards” November 13 on ABC

Women in Country Music will unite for a historic, not-to-be-missed opening performance at “The 53rd Annual CMA Awards.” The groundbreaking number led by Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton will also feature Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Crystal Gayle, The Highwomen (comprised of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires), Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, Tanya Tucker and Gretchen Wilson, each performing iconic Country songs for a monumental decades-spanning medley never before seen.

Country Music’s Biggest Night™ features never-before-seen collaborations including Dolly Parton, King & Country and Zach Williams!

“The 53rd Annual CMA Awards” to Air Live from Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, Nov. 13 on the ABC Television Network

Eric Church, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Maren Morris, Dolly Parton with for KING & COUNTRY and Zach Williams, P!NK and Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban have been announced as the first group of performers for “The 53rd Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by Underwood with special guest hosts McEntire and Parton. Country Music’s Biggest Night™ will air live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 8/7c on the ABC Television Network.

Nine-time CMA Awards winner Parton will welcome for KING & COUNTRY and Williams to the CMA Awards stage for the first time ever to perform an inspirational gospel medley of “God Only Knows,” “There Was Jesus,” and Parton’s not-yet-released new song “Faith.” In an epic collaboration, Chris Stapleton, a three-time nominee this year, will join P!NK to perform their duet, “Love Me Anyway.”

With three nominations this year, Church will perform his hit “Some Of It” from his CMA Album of the Year nominated album Desperate Man. Combs, the reigning CMA New Artist of the Year and three-time nominee this year, will take the stage performing fan favorite “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” In addition to her guest host appearance, McEntire, a six-time CMA Awards winner, will perform her classic hit, “Fancy.” McEntire last performed the song at the CMA Awards in 2016 as part of a multi-artist medley, opening the 50th anniversary ceremony. Lambert, nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year this year, will bring her rising new single “It All Comes Out In The Wash” to the CMA Awards stage, while Morris will perform her three-time nominated hit, “GIRL.” Morris is the top nominated artist this year with six total nominations. Host and reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Underwood, also a three-time nominee this year, is set to perform “Drinking Alone” from her CMA Album of the Year nominated album Cry Pretty, and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year and two-time nominee this year, Urban will perform his hit, “We Were.”

Additional performers and presenters will be revealed in the coming weeks.

“The 53rd Annual CMA Awards” is a production of the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton is the Executive Producer, Alex Rudzinski is the Director, and David Wild is the Head Writer.

For King & Country and Zach Williams headline Dollywood’s Rock the Smokies on August 24

Families and church groups looking for an inspirational way to put an exclamation point at the end of summer should circle August 24 on their calendars. Dollywood’s Rock the Smokies returns with headline performances in Dolly Parton’s Celebrity Theater by For King & Country (“Fix My Eyes”) and Zach Williams (“Chain Breaker”).

The Smokies will rock with the hit music of several of contemporary Christian music’s biggest names during this extremely popular annual event. Tickets sold out early last season and the same will be true for this year’s fifth-anniversary event. Special early bird pricing is available now through June 28 and is available at rockthesmokies.com.

Tauren Wells, Micah Tyler, and Jordan Feliz are set to perform on additional stages throughout the park. All performances outside of Dolly Parton’s Celebrity Theater are free with park admission. Mr. Talkbox, a four-time Grammy winner, and Egypt Speaks, a dynamic author and spoken word artist, serve as emcees for the headline performances at Celebrity Theater.
