Fred Foster signs Dolly and Bill Owens to Combine Music and Monument Records. Dolly has first charting single, "Happy, Happy Birthday Baby."

In 1959 "Puppy Love," written by Parton/Owens, was released on Goldband Records by Dolly Parton at age 13, becoming her first single.
